Pam Canty first heard about YoungLives after her Pastor attended their annual banquet. He brought back a glowing report on what God was doing through this ministry. Pam visited the Olney club for several months and engaged with the moms, kids and staff. She sensed it was time to share her desire to start a club with her church. On a Sunday morning in 2018 she gave a brief presentation about the possibilities of serving young moms. After the presentation, Pam was overwhelmed with the support and interest expressed by the congregation. Many of the women shared that they had been teen moms at some point on their journey and they wanted to help. It became evident that God was preparing Great Commission Church to be an extension of His love to the teen moms in the northwest section of Philadelphia.  After much prayer, research and planning, YoungLives West Oak Lane launched it’s first club in May of 2018.

Pam is a native of Philadelphia. As a child of urban missionaries, she developed a passion early on for serving those in her city. Her heart has always gravitated towards working with children and women.  Pam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Bible from Cairn University. She has led Women's Ministry for over 10 years and is gifted in bringing ladies together in fun and meaningful ways where they can connect and grow in their faith.  Pam currently teaches preschool. She has been married to Kyle, the love of her life, for almost 19 years and they have three beautiful children.
